▸ What is the monthly cost?

The majority of our residents received Social Security Benefits and Medicaid Long Term Care through The Resource Exchange. For these individuals, room and board is on a sliding scale based on income starting at $797 per month.

For an individual to private pay the cost of residency at BethHaven is $4,000 per month, which includes housing, three meals a day, 24/7 Caregiver support, transportation to appointments, and activities both in the house and in the community.


▸ How do residents pay?

Residents may pay through:

  • Social Security and Medicaid Long Term Care
    • (Home and Community Based Services – Mental Illness Waiver
  • Private Pay
  • VA Benefits (for eligible veterans) 

We strongly recommend applicants be approved for Social Security and have started the HCBS-MI waiver process before moving in. Our team is happy to guide you through next steps.


▸ Who is eligible to live at BethHaven?

BethHaven serves adults with serious and persistent mental illness who benefit from a structured, supportive living environment. We specialize in working with individuals with Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder and Schizoaffective Disorder.

We provide:

  • 24-hour staff support in both homes
  • Daily meals
  • Medication monitoring
  • General household support

BethHaven is not licensed to provide personal care (bathing, dressing, toileting). Residents must manage their own personal care and participate in light household responsibilities such as cleaning their room and doing laundry.

  • Get on our waitlist – We typically have 10-15 people waiting for a spot, but filling vacancies depends on timing and the best fit for openings
  • Schedule a tour of the facility
  • Ask questions about our house, or how to best support your loved one while transitioning

Applicants must be able to:

  • Pay the full monthly rent
  • Provide relevant medical and psychological records
  • Demonstrate no history of violent behavior

▸ Do you accept residents with dementia?

No. BethHaven does not admit individuals diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.


▸ How long do residents stay?

There is no required length of stay. While each resident’s journey is unique, BethHaven is designed as a long-term housing option, and many residents remain for years.


▸ What is the average age of residents?

The average resident is approximately 45 years old, with ages typically ranging from early 20s to late 60s.

BethHaven is located just east of downtown Colorado Springs, near shopping, restaurants, parks, churches, medical facilities, public transportation, and community resources.


▸ Is BethHaven a religious organization?

No. BethHaven is not a religious organization. We were founded on principles of dignity, acceptance, and growth, and we welcome residents of all backgrounds and beliefs.


▸ Is BethHaven a locked facility?

No. Residents are free to come and go. Doors are secured overnight for safety, as in any home, and accommodations can be made for late returns when needed.
